Warmer months are ahead of us, and what better way to celebrate than with delicious frozen yogurt? Berkeley’s FroYo scene offers a plethora of choices, making it difficult to decide where to get your next treat. To help you decide, we’ve ranked four popular FroYo destinations by price, taste, and accessibility.
Honey Berry: This Asian dessert place on Telegraph serves everything from roti buns to boba to FroYo . However, because it has other dessert options, Honey Berry offers a smaller FroYo selection. There are only a 4 rotating flavors and about 15 toppings. The flavors are more artificial and sweeter than those of other FroYo joints.
Price: $0.35 per ounce

Tip: Honey Berry is the place to go if you want a selection of desserts to go with your FroYo.
Yogurtland: Everyone loves this West Coast chain, because what’s not to love? Yogurtland’s convenient locations on Bancroft and Shattuck make it a favorite go-to treat for students celebrating the end of class (or just for no reason … who needs an excuse for FroYo?). Their large containers make it easy to dispense any combination of yogurt you want. Choose from dozens of toppings and constantly rotating flavors, such as this week’s featured Maple Cookie or Coconut Mango Tart.

Tip: Each flavor tastes completely different from the next, so ask employees for samples before you decide!
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt: Located on Euclid, this FroYo joint remains a hidden gem from many Cal students. If you live on Southside or in Downtown Berkeley, it’s a bit of a trek – but it’s worth it. Menchie’s has 14 rotating flavors daily, including a sugar-free option. If you’re feeling nostalgic for your childhood and find yourself longing for Disneyland, try the Dole Whip flavor – it’s pineapple deliciousness. The assortment of 50+ toppings trumps that of Yogurtland’s, but there are fewer fruit options to choose from.

Tip: On $5 Fridays, fill an entire cup with as much FroYo and as many toppings as you want.
Yogurt Park: Creamier and richer than regular FroYo, Yogurt Park’s product is known for its distinct, classic flavors and unique toppings. “The Original” frozen yogurt store on Durant opened in 1977 and has remained popular among Cal students since. There are six flavors on the menu and most of them change daily, with the exception of vanilla and chocolate. Unlike other FroYo places, Yogurt Park charges extra for toppings but they mix them in instead of simply placing them in cup. If you prefer creamy over tart, this is the place for you!

Tip: There’s not a lot of space in the store, so don’t plan on staying around once you get the yogurt.
