Students give back to the community

Soccer, superheroes and a bouncy house. Kids, college students, and paint. Lots and lots of paint.

D.E.S.K., Discover Education through Student Knowledge, seized the lower quad on April 16, as nearly 55 Old Town Elementary School students, their parents and their Wake Forest partners collaborated to paint desks and raise money for school supplies. The event, which first ran in 2000, allows these young students to design dream desks and then turn their designs into reality with the help of university students. The sun came out just in time for everyone involved to enjoy pizza, music, a bouncy house and of course, the benefit of helping those who could one day join the ranks of the Demon Deacons.
