Report: Marcus Mariota and Arik Armstead to enter 2015 NFL Draft

Oregon’s Marcus Mariota and Arik Armstead are planning to enter the 2015 NFL Draft, according to CBS Sports.

Mariota, a redshirt junior, and Armstead, a true junior, both purchased large disability policies prior to the season and the expectations were already there that the two would decide to enter the draft following the 2014 football season.

For Mariota, the decision is a no brainer. The 6-foot-4 215-pound quarterback is ranked as the number one overall prospect for the 2015 draft by CBS Sports and was thought to be one of the more NFL ready signal callers if he left the collegiate level after last season.

Armstead, who hasn’t received the type of national recognition his teammate has, leads the Ducks in tackles for loss with 4.0. Regardless of if Armstead’s pedigree doesn’t possess what Mariota’s does, his physical prowess is undeniable. At 6-foot-7, 296-pounds, he is perceived to have all of the athletic traits of a projected first-round draft pick.
