Delta Zeta holds Painted Turtle Wars to support Gallaudet University – For the sorority’s first philanthropic event of the year, participants will receive 200 paintballs to use at their discretion

Delta Zeta is hosting their first philanthropy event of the year, Painted Turtle Wars, Saturday September 20th at Paintball Paradyes.

The event will be filled with fun, music, and food, shared Delta Zeta Philanthropy Chair, Cecily McClear. Participants will receive 200 paintballs to use to their discretion. Even Delta Zeta’s Executive Board will be joining in the fun.

McClear has this piece of advice for students participating, “Wear sweatshirts and loose pants to avoid bruising from the paintballs.”

All proceeds from the event will go to Gallaudet University, a school for the deaf and hearing impaired. As a result of past Delta Zeta philanthropy events, the sorority was able to buy a vibrating dance floor for the students. The vibrations allow the students to experience the music through vibrations since they are unable to hear it.

McClear shared that her favorite thing about the philanthropy events is, “Seeing people come together for something that is fun and is going to a good cause.”

There are currently around 50 people registered to participate in the event. Registration is open until the September 20, is $35 and can be completed at paintedturtlewars.weebly.com.

Delta Zeta’s next philanthropy event is their 2nd Annual Turtle Trot 5k on October 18th. To register, visit turtletrot.weebly.com.
