Two Inglewood men arrested in connection with July burglary

University police arrested two Inglewood men this week after finding that one of them matched a fingerprint found at the scene of a July burglary on Roebling Avenue.

A UCPD officer found a fingerprint on an apartment window where police believe a thief entered on July 30. A detective then processed the print through federal and state databases.

UCPD officers arrested Michael Antonio Brown, 19, early Thursday in Inglewood on a charge of residential burglary after the fingerprint matched his record. After speaking with Brown, officers arrested Michael Dalencia Bender, 19, early Friday on the same charge.

The department will investigate whether the two men are responsible for other burglaries in the area, said UCPD Lt. Mark Littlestone in a statement.

Police are still looking for the stolen property, Littlestone added.

Brown and Bender are both being held at the Men’s Central Jail downtown in lieu of $50,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in court next week.
