UH came back from last week’s upsetting loss to BYU with a 47-14 victory over UNLV Saturday as 75 percent of their yard gains kept the ball on the ground. The Cougars totaled 534 yards in the victory, 399 of which were rushing.

In accordance with sophomore quarterback John O’Korn’s two interceptions thrown, the Cougars scored four of their six touchdowns by running the ball into the end zone. Junior running backs Ryan Jackson and Kenneth Farrow both picked up over 100 rushing yards throughout game.

The Cougar defense came out just as strong as the team’s running game as they caught three interceptions and forced the Rebels to punt the ball seven times. When including games from last season, junior strong safety Adrian McDonald lengthened his streak of consecutive games with a forced turnover to seven.
