John Thrasher elected as FSU’s next president

Despite widespread discontent from students and faculty, John Thrasher has been elected to be Florida State’s next president.
Students and faculty largely objected Thrasher becoming president for his lack of academic background and his ties to the conservative and politically powerful Koch brothers, fearing he will further the Kochs’ influence on FSU. Students also said they were weary of Thrasher due to his support of a proposal to split FAMU and FSU’s engineering program.
