After a decade of hibernation, alternative hip-hop group Deltron 3030 gave the audience at the University Union Plaza a show they would never forget on Friday.

The supergroup, made up of Dan The Automator, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Kid Koala, performed classics from its self-titled debut album while showcasing newer hits from its follow-up work, Event 2.

“It’s a tight campus,” Del said. “Everyone seems cool so far.”

An estimated 800-900 students showed up to see Deltron 3030. Fans enjoyed singing along to familiar hits while others experienced Deltron 3030 for the first time, fist-pumping in the air to the rhythmic, pulsating sound.

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) put on the free concert for all students to give them something fun and different to do on a Friday night.

Graphic communication senior Haley Brown, who works as ASI’s outreach and student government special events student assistant, helped coordinate the show and is hopeful events like this will go smoothly in the future as well.

“This was one of our first late-night shows, so it was a test,” Brown said. “But it turned out to be really successful. Going forward, we are going to continue to experiment for the best time and venues so that as many students as possible can come.”
