Folk-rock band Dawes will hit the SLO Brewing Co. stage Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Henry Wolfe, singer-songwriter (and son of Meryl Streep) will open the event.

Kopecky Family Band or Middle Brother fans may enjoy Dawes’ tight harmonies and soft instrumental sound. Its melodies are reminiscent of vintage ’70s soft rock or the campfire-style tunes of Dr. Dog.

Though Dawes hails from Los Angeles, the group’s latest album, Stories Don’t End, was recorded in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The location provided an escape from the hustle and bustle of L.A. life.

Band members include Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, who cover guitar, vocals and drums. Wylie Gelber plays the bass and Tay Strathairn rocks the keys.

Tickets are available for all ages online at Ticketfly.com for $22. They will also be sold at the door for $25.
