While the Cal football team started off strong and stayed with the Ducks for the first couple of drives, the Bears ultimately couldn’t keep up and fell 59-41 Friday night at Levi’s Stadium.

Heisman favorite Marcus Mariota threw for 326 yards and 5 touchdowns; he also threw his first pick of the season, a ball that was tipped and picked up by safety Stefan McClure.

Cal running back Daniel Lasco ran for 85 yards and had 101 yards receiving, acting as Cal’s leading receiver for the game. Maurice Harris was close behind with 79 yards and a touchdown.

It still wasn’t enough as the Bears in the second half failed to match Oregon’s pace of play and had to deal with defensive struggles.

Full recap to follow.
