Starbucks’ Secret Menu: Green Tea Matcha – A unique, cheap and healthy alternative to Starbucks’ infamously sugar coated favorites.

Starbucks is renowned for their delicious, satisfying, heartwarming, and gluttonously fattening creations. It’s not hard to walk in and order 50g of sugar without a second thought or even an idea of what you’re about to put in your mouth. Thankfully, you don’t always have to do that.

Every Starbucks storefront around the country should stock a powder called Matcha. Matcha is made out of finely ground green tea leaves that have been specially grown and harvested in Japan. The next time you’re in Starbucks and looking for something healthy, try asking them to make a Green Tea Matcha.

At three calories per scoop, one gram of protein and zero of everything else, this drink is super healthy. And cheap! You can go buy one now in any size and spend less than $3.00 for it.

If your barista doesn’t know how simple it is to make, here’s the ingredient list:

1 scoop of Matcha for Tall

2-3 scoops of Matcha for Grande

3-4 scoops of Matcha for Veinte

Iced or Steamed Water

If you’re afraid of it tasting bad, it really doesn’t. It’s like a glass of iced tea with just a hint of sweetness so that it’s not bland.

If this interests you, try it out! If not, come back next time and we’ll have another item off Starbucks’ secret menu that might be more up your alley.
