Starbucks’ Secret Menu: Cookie Dough Frappuccino

In celebration of the first sub-ninety degree day we’ve had this month, I decided to round the week off with Starbucks’ interpretation of an ice cream favorite, cookie dough.

“The Cookie Dough Frappuccino” is something I’ve been interested in trying for a while now. I actually heard of it before I ever saw it on the secret menu, so it might already be kind of popular. Anyway, here’s the recipe:

– Cinnamon Dolce Creme Frappuccino

– Mocha Syrup (1 Pump Tall, 2 Pumps Grande, 3 Pumps Venti)

– Blend in Java Chips

– Top with Cookie Crumble and Chocolate Whip

Unfortunately, my Starbucks was out of chocolate whip and cookie crumble, so I had to compensate with regular whip and a mocha drizzle as you will see in today’s picture.

My first impression of this drink was, “Wow, cinnamon dolce goes really well with chocolate!” I had thought going in that this recipe didn’t look very cookie centric. It was just chocolate and cream and more chocolate, but that cinnamon dolce does wonders for it. It actually does taste just like I’m drinking a cookie in each sip. I really wish I had that chocolate whip to go with it. I have a feeling that could have pushed the chocolate flavor too far over the top if it had been there, but I guess I’ll have to find out another day.

Anyway, it was definitely a good choice either way. If this is a drink that interests you, definitely go try it! If not, you can come back next week and we’ll have another item up off Starbucks’ secret menu that may be more to your liking.
