Field Hockey: Goalie’s saves rewarded with better defense, wins

Courtney Seiders had almost no shots against her Sunday at Pruitt Field, which was perfectly fine with her.

For most of Ohio U.’s 7-0 rout of Ball State, Seiders stood alone in front of the net while the Bobcats relentlessly attacked the Cardinals’ defense. Ball State managed only two shots and had no corners.

Field hockey team pleased to be back in the win column

The last time the Penn State U. field hockey team got a win was back in late August.

Back then, the sun was shining, the bleachers were hot and the water jets provided a treat for fans watching the game at AstroTurf Field. But a lot can change in a little over two weeks.

Field Hockey: Ohio U. aims to light up scoreboard against California

The Bobcats did everything but put the ball in the net Sunday against Drexel U., so they spent this week’s practices doing just that.

After failing to score in losses to Rutgers and the No. 13 Dragons last weekend, coach Neil Macmillan made sure his offense got plenty of work in scoring situations.

Field Hockey: Offensive woes keep win away from Bobcats’ grasp

With eight minutes remaining in the first half, Brooke Edwards fired a shot over Drexel U. goalie Jenna Phillips’ shoulder and into the net. It appeared the junior had broken a scoreless tie with the Dragons, but Ohio U.’s column on the scoreboard remained at zero.
