Former U. Tampa student fights to win Bachelorette’s love

By Alex Vera

A former U. Tampa student has gotten closer in a chance to win over the heart of season six Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky.

Roberto Martinez, 26, is a former 2002 and 2003 Division II baseball player and Tampa native. He was also a pitcher for UT, but not a very good one with a 7.20 ERA.

After he graduated, Martinez moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he achieved his “greatest achievement to date,” becoming the youngest State Farm agent in the U.S.

Now, Martinez is going after is next challenge…winning over Ali Fedotowsky. Martinez made his first impression a memorable one after greeting Fedotowsky with a Spanish introduction.

While the dates have been smooth thus far, Martinez revealed that his worst date took place when he was in high school. He was on a double date and the girl he was with cried because she spilled ketchup.

Martinez has pulled out the romance cards though, especially in episode three where he shares a kiss with Fedotowsky miles above ground between two high-rise buildings.

Catch the final episodes of Bachelorette to see if he comes out on top.
