University of Iowa officials have clarified some new rules and regulations on tailgating on university property.
In a release Thursday, UI officials said many Hawkeye fans had contacted them about one new rule, which requires tailgaters to stop drinking one hour after the “end of the game” and leave the university premises within the next hour.
According to officials, “the end” begins when a substantial portion of the stadium is empty. The only exception will be the Homecoming game against Penn State on Oct. 2, when no tailgating of any form will be permitted after the game.
