Sex: Advice — I thought everything was going well … until she stopped talking to me

I understood this, so we just kept in contact via texts. However, shortly after that, the texts suddenly became less and less frequent, until they disappeared altogether. I don’t understand why all of a sudden she stopped talking to me, but now I’m pissed and hurt. I don’t know if I should just let it go, or I should confront her about this. Advice?

Dear To Text or Not to Text,

You have a right to be hurt. This girl just played with your feelings. The thing that frustrates me so much about situations like these is the cowardliness of the person who, instead of ending it in a way that is both upfront and honest, he or she would rather forget it ever happened and disappear from the other person’s life without a trace. It’s okay to date someone for a while and then realize it won’t work out — but at least tell the other person this. It is the mature, responsible and sensitive thing to do.

So, I think you should text her. Don’t let her get away with this bad behavior — let her know how you’re hurt, how you’re confused. Though you weren’t together for long, you invested your feelings in her, and she owes you some closure. Demand the respect you deserve, and hopefully, she will rethink doing something like this again in the future.

Good luck.

Sincerely,

Katherine
