The Ducks fell to the Huskies 5-2 after dropping their first doubles match of the season, but did manage to finish out the weekend with an impressive 6-1 victory over UNLV as they continue to prove why they belong among the best teams in the country.

Despite winning the doubles point for the ninth consecutive time this season against Washington, Aaron Clissold and Lova Randriamampandry came up short for the first time as they fell to Marton Bots and Max Manthou 8-6 in the No. 2 spot. Washington just barely missed the opportunity to snag the doubles point after top duo Robin Cambier and Jeff Mullen struggled to top Kyle McMorrow and Emmett Egger 8-6, but Daan Maasland and Alex Rovello did manage to finish out the day with a commanding win 8-1 win over Viktor Farkas and Jeff Hawke.

It simply wasn’t a day to remember in singles as Washington walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Ducks. The Ducks began the day off with a loss as Mullen fell to McMorrow  in the top spot 2-6, 7-5, 1-6. Cambier also missed his chance to keep his perfect record in tact with a loss to Bots 6-0, 3-6, 4-6 in the second spot as the top two Duck players fell for the first time this season. Maasland fell in the No. 3 spot to Manthou 7-6, 2-6, 4-10 in a very closely contested match, but Rovello did come away with the Ducks only win as he defeated Egger 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 4 spot. To finish out the day, Randriamampandry fell 6-7, 3-6 to Farkas while Chin lost to Hawke 1-6, 0-6.

After being handed their first loss of the season, the Ducks responded with a dominating 4-1 victory over UNLV. In the top spot, Jeff Mullen and Robin Cambier defeated Bernard Choeman and Ace Matrias 9-7(3), while Alex Rovello and Daan Maasland grabbed an 8-4 win over Gilad Berman and Dilaura in the No. 3 spot. This gave the doubles point to the Ducks and also haulted Aaron Clissold and Love Randriamampandry’s match against Johannes Markel and Tamas Batyi in the No. 2 spot despite them leading 7-6.

In singles, Mullen dropped his second singles match in the last two games as he fell to Matias 7-5, 6-2 in the top spot. This would be the only loss for the Ducks as Cambier helped the Ducks bounce back with a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Batyi No. 2 spot. Rovello kept the train rolling as he defeated Alvarado 6-1, 6-0 in the third spot while Clissold finished off the day with a win over Schoeman 6-3, 6-2 to give the Ducks the win.

On the horizon: The Ducks will resume play on March 2nd as they get set to face off against Portland at the Portland at the UO Student Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
