After canceling the second round of play at the English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans, La., the University of Oregon women’s golf team proceeded to finishing in 14th place at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship. The Ducks (298-313-611) recorded a 25-over 313 on the 6,105 yard, par-72 course and exited the event with a sour taste in their mouth.

Leading the way for the Ducks was Cassy Isagawa (76-76-152), who finished in a tie for 45th place after shooting a four-over 76. This was the best finish for the Ducks and simply summed up a disappointing showing at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship. Freshman Caroline Inglis (74-78-153) and senior Cheyenne Burbank (74-78-153) both finished in a tie for 51st as the two recorded a seven-over 76 in the final round of play.

Finishing out on top were two Pac-12 schools in UCLA (283-297-580) and Southern California (287-293-580). Both teams finished in a tie for first place and recorded an overall score of  four-over 580 in conclusion of the two-day event. Sitting a mere three strokes behind them was Duke (283-300-583), who finished in third place.

Hayley Davis (72-68-140) of Baylor finished in first place in the individual leaderboard after jumping an astonishing 20 spots from the previous round. Lee Lopez (69-73-142) of UCLA and Sophia Popov (70-72-142)  of Southern California both finished in a tie for second place with a two-under 142.

On the horizon. The Ducks will resume play next week at the Juli Inkster Invitational at Almaden Country Club in San Jose, Calif. The two-day event will begin March 4.
