The WOW Hall was nearly at capacity Tuesday night for the Emancipator, Little People and Odesza concert. Emancipator, the headliner from Portland, is currently trotting across the West Coast in support of his latest album, “Dusk to Dawn.”

The night started off with a relaxed but stimulating cadence brought on by Odesza, the producer duo from Washington. Odesza took full advantage of the well-calculated sound system and performed a beautiful live interpretation of both their latest album, “Summer’s Gone,” and more recent projects. Moreover, Odesza set the tone for the rest of the night, blending melody and soul with driving bass and dance-inducing fervor.

For a Tuesday night in the middle of dead week, the WOW Hall was filled with energy and excitement. By the time Emancipator took to the stage, the crowd was already eagerly awaiting both their presence and their sound. And in response to that eagerness, Emancipator delivered.

Featuring new songs from the latest album alongside classics like “Shook” and “Elephant Survival,” Emancipator satisfied fans both new and old. Some of those in attendance had experienced Emancipator on several occasions, especially considering that he’s an Oregon local. But for those in attendance either new to the sound or new to the Emancipator live experience, this was a show that proved the importance of Emancipator. It showed the importance of innovation and quality within a genre so saturated by generic-sounding productions. With fellow live violinist, Emancipator bridges modern electronic soundscapes with a nostalgia for classical instrumentation.

Emancipator, Little People and Odesza put together pristine performances that confirmed their positions as pioneers of a new electronic sound. Seeing their performance, Eugene got a taste of the future of electronic music.
