After pulling a mild upset over USC in round one, Utah pulled off a shocker over the second-seeded Golden Bears of California on Thursday evening for their fourth consecutive win, which is the longest current streak in the conference. The 10th-seeded Utes are the only remaining spoiler in the field as (1) UCLA, (3) Oregon and (4) Arizona all advanced. Utah’s regular season record was 5-13.

Utah went almost the entire conference season without back-to-back wins. But the team from Salt Lake City won its final two regular season games, including a surprise 72-62 victory over Oregon. After dispatching USC in day one of the bracket, Utah forced overtime against Cal with a clutch three-pointer from Jarred DuBois. In the extra time the Utes rolled, winning by 10.

The Ducks were also propelled by late, game-tying points to survive the quarterfinal round. Oregon was behind by six in the second half against Washington, but a pair of Johnathan Loyd free throws down the stretch tied it, and much like Utah did, Oregon rolled in overtime for the win.

In Oregon’s first showdown with Utah, it took a 51-point second half effort to defend home court and beat Utah by nine. In the second matchup, Utah led the Ducks the whole way and killed Oregon’s chance at the top seed for the tournament.

DuBois is Utah’s main scorer, tallying almost 13 per game. Jordan Loveridge and Jason Washburn both score around 12 per contest.

For UO, E.J. Singler is scoring close to 12, while Carlos Emory and Damyean Dotson put in about 11.

In Dominic Artis’ first start in months, he scored zero points. It is unknown whether he will be relegated to the bench in favor of Loyd for tonight’s game.

Tipoff for tonight’s game is set for 8:30 p.m. ESPNU has the coverage.
