Home sweet home for Louisville. OK, so Indianapolis isn’t really in the state of Kentucky where the University of Louisville is actually located but Lucas Oil Stadium will feel pretty much like home for the Cardinals in tonight’s game with Oregon in the Sweet 16. Less than a two hour drive north from Louisville, Indianapolis will be filled with UL faithful as the stadium will likely have 36,000 patrons tonight; with more than 80 percent of them there to support the Cards. While the Oregon fan population might be minimal for tonight’s 7:15 p.m EST tip time, there has been no shortage of general basketball fandom here in Indianapolis. Players from all four squads participating in the regional signed autographs for excited fans who came to watch practices yesterday. Folks from Duke, Michigan State, Oregon and Louisville have descended on this mecca of basketball to witness some of the country’s perennial powerhouses, as well as new comer Oregon, compete.
