ASUO Senator Lamar Wise is the presidential candidate for Ducks for a Difference slate, underscored by vice-presidential candidates Sen. Amy Jones and Alexandra Flores-Quilty.

Wise has been involved in the ASUO since first enrolling here in 2010. He was a part of the Ben and Lamar campaign last spring, which was defeated by the current We Are Oregon administration.

He is setting out again to increase outreach and encourage a diverse group of students to involve themselves in the ASUO.

“We have folks from Fraternity and Sorority Life, folks from student groups and unions, folks from ROTC, the law school, folks from Residence Hall Association, etc.,” he said. “The ASUO needs to be open to and representative of all students on this campus — that’s one of our goals in running.”

Another goal set by Wise and his campaign will be to empower students and make sure they know the full potential of the ASUO. To do this, the campaign has its sights set on achievements that directly impact students.

“Ducks for a Difference has tangible, achievable plans to impact the lives of students,” he said. “From a plan to repeal the Social Host Ordinance to plans for a student-led, easily accessible student textbook exchange program, to a plan to make sure the ASUO budget is used for student groups and services the way it was meant to be.”
