Music: Papadosio to play WOW Hall with Acorn Project

However, the group is spending much of its time on the road this spring as its members gear up for a summer run of music festivals across the United States.

Papadosio’s musicianship is what really shines through, both in terms of its studio productions and live performances. Blending improvisational jams with dance rhythms, vocals and psychedelic rock guitar allows for the quintet to create a style that is both in a class of its own and an invigorating interpretation of modern electronica.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Papadosio sound, it’s more a journey than typical party music. In fact, it’s completely the opposite of the contemporary idea of electronic dance music. Anyone with a fascination and admiration for live instrumentation will find the WOW Hall to be bursting with an energy of sound innovation. And, of course, it’ll be filled with dance-inducing grooves.

Supporting Papadosio at the WOW Hall is Acorn Project, a troupe based in Bellingham, Wash.  Another live jam band, Acorn Project keeps things on the rock end of the spectrum. However, their ability to move audiences is uncanny. From funky breakdowns and horn sections to an impressive (and highly energetic) rendition of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name,” Acorn Project knows how to work a crowd.

With the help of Acorn Project, Papadosio will present Eugene with an experience that doesn’t come around often. Be sure to catch Papadosio at an intimate venue while you can.

Papadosio and Acorn Project play Tuesday night. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are available in advance for $10 and at the door for $12.
