Women’s tennis earns win in San Francisco

The women’s tennis team picked up a win today in their final away matches of the season, beating No. 64 San Francisco 4-3.

With today’s win, the Ducks are 12-6 overall.

Oregon won all three doubles matches, giving them a 1-0 lead to start the competition.

Patricia Skowronski and Nicole Long earned their 13th win of the season beating Andrea Ka and Sofia Holmberg 8-6. Julia Metzger and Pascale Neubert won in a tiebreaker 8-7. Brooke Hughes and Sofia Hager also picked up a win beating Brooke Irish and Marina Nikolic 8-6.

In singles play, Long lost in a tough match 6-4, 7-5 against Andrea Ka. However, the Ducks were able to seal the win with performances from Skowronski and Metzger. Lana Butner also contributed for Oregon, winning 6-1, 6-3.

On the horizon: The Ducks will face California tomorrow in conference play. They will conclude their Bay Area trip when they face Stanford on Saturday.
