Zone Read AM: Olympic Trials return to Eugene, Kentucky picked as the top team in forthcoming college hoops

In case you haven’t heard, the U.S Team Olympic Trials for Track and Field will return to Hayward Field for the sixth time in 2016.

Friday marks the start of a huge weekend for Oregon sports, hosting seven different events in Eugene; baseball and men’s tennis, along with track and field, will represent Oregon on the road.

The softball team will face the No. 17 Wildcats in an important Pac-12 matchup starting today at 5 p.m.

Yale and Quinnipiac will battle it out in the title in Division-I men’s ice hockey Saturday night.

The former beat Massachusetts-Lowell 3-2 in overtime, and Quinnipiac topped St. Cloud State Friday in the semi-finals.

It should be an interesting final, with only 10 miles separating the two schools.

According to Jay Bilas of ESPN, the Kentucky Wildcats are the team to beat for next college basketball season.
