The Georgia Southern University softball team completed a three game sweep of Samford University today with a 1-0 victory.
Sophomore pitcher Brooke Red dominated with seven innings of two hit ball on Alumni Day. She recorded five strikeouts in the shutout win.
Senior first baseman Tabby Douberley broke the scoreless tie with a clutch single to right field. She drove in junior shortstop Kourtny Thomas for the go ahead run.
The sweep pushes the Eagles Southern Conference record to 9-5 as the team jockeys for position near the top of the SoCon.
GSU has a three game set on the road against Western Carolina University scheduled to start next Saturday at 1:00p.m.
