Oregon’s left-handed pitcher Tommy Thrope has accepted his invitation to play for the 2013 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team this summer.

The sophomore from Vancouver, Wa. has  a 6-4 record with a 2.39 ERA this season, helping the Ducks to a 43-13 record. Thrope has made 35 appearances, which ranks as the third most in a single season at Oregon.

ESPN reports that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said on ”The Dan Patrick Show” proclaimed he is still the fastest quarterback in the league. Vick, who will turn 33 in about a month, is a four-time Pro Bowler and holds the top spot among NFL quarterbacks in rushing yards with 5,551.

ESPN Chicago reports that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said on “The Jim Rose Show” that recently retired linebacker Brian Urlacher was his favorite player to play against.
