Preview: Oregon softball needs repeat of last season

Despite being in a one game hole, the Ducks have been in this situation before, believe it or not, and have come out the other end with a WCWS bid. Last season, the Ducks were down 0-1 in their series against Texas and managed to rally to two straight victories to receive their first WCWS bid since 1989.

But in order for the Ducks to come out of the Super Regional today, they will need two things to go their way: Consistent batting and better pitching. The Ducks have struggled as of late on offense; with their runs coming in inconsistent waves and they will need to fix that in game two by scoring earlier and hitting more consistently. As for the pitching, the Ducks have two of the better pitchers in the nation in Jessica Moore (Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year) and Cheridan Hawkins (Pac-12 All-Freshman team), so there is minimal chance that another grand slam is given this afternoon.

Game time is set for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. if a game three is necessary.
