Ted Miller of ESPN’s Pac-12 blog discusses the possible future challenges for three new Pac-12 football coaches, California’s Sonny Dykes, Colorado’s Mike MacIntyre and Oregon’s Mark Helfrich.

Miller reports that Helfrich has a leg up already due to Marcus Mariota returning for the Ducks, as well as Helfrich’s overall experience at Oregon, assisting as the offensive coordinator the last four years under Chip Kelly.

However, the bar is set high for Helfrich, as Miller reports the only way to exceed Chip Kelly is by winning a national title.

After the conclusion of the NCAA Track and Field Championships last weekend, Ken Goe of the Oregonian deliberates why Hayward Field still beats out Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa for the best venue for championship meets.

Drake Stadium will host the upcoming USA Championships next week. However, even after sponsors and organizers in Des Moines made a push to compete with Eugene for the site of championship, USA Track and Field still choose Hayward Field as the location for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.

The battle for the Stanley Cup begins tonight, as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Boston Bruins in game one of the NHL  finals.

The Bruins swept the Pittsburgh Penguins in 4 games to earn their spot in the finals, while the Blackhawks beat the Los Angeles Kings in game 5.

Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times reports on the brawl that ensued last night at Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers faced the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Benches cleared in the seventh inning as Arizona’s pitcher Ian Kennedy hit Los Angeles pitcher Zack Greinke.

The Dodgers rallied back to beat the Diamondbacks 5-3.
