In an effort to fundraise for the NCU Athletic Scholarship Fund, NCU will host the upcoming Barnstrom 2013 All-Star Game on Sunday, June 30th at 7 p.m. at the local Churchill High School. The game will consist of Oregon high school all-stars and current/former professional players.
Headlining the event will be: NCU Coach Luke Jackson (former Duck basketball player), Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Luke Ridnour (former Duck), Medford products Kyle Singler (Detroit Pistons) and E.J. Singler (former Duck), Houston Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks (former Duck) and former Duck basketball players Bryce Taylor, Tajuan Porter and Garrett Sim. Aside from the obvious Oregon affiliation, many of these players have played together competitively and will have the rare opportunity of reuniting on the court once again.
In addition to the headline athletes, NCU will feature two players of their own: All-American Ben Voogd and current NCU Assistant Coach Josh Harbert.
Playing against the headliners will be: McDonald’s High School All-American and the 2013 Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year Mercedes Russell from local Springfield High School and NCU recruits Keidren Johnson (Churchill High School), Calvin Anderson (Horizon Christian high school) and Nathaniel Sutherland (Westside Christian HS).
Ticket information for the event will be released this Friday, June 21st.
