Zone Read PM: Tony Woods works out for Blazers, Spurs hold 3-2 edge over Miami

In their ninth predraft workout today, the Portland Trail Blazers hosted six more prospects in preparation for the upcoming NBA draft on June 27th. Among the six players was the former 6-foot-11 Oregon center  Tony Woods. Woods has now worked out with both the Boston Celtics and now the Blazers and will likely try to fit in as many predraft workouts as he can between now and the draft.

After dropping their first three games of the year, the Eugene Emeralds will look to bounce back in their upcoming three-game series at Hillsboro. The Ems currently hold a dismal .156 batting average and will need to improve their offensive production if they wish to be competitive moving forward. It may just be three games, but the Ems will have many adjustments to make in their upcoming games.

For Spurs fans it was nothing but pleasant surprises last night as their team went on to defeat the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat 114-104 as they now head back to Miami for the remaining games. Led by an unexpected Manu Ginobli, who recorded an impressive 24 points and 10 assists and Danny Green, who broke the NBA Finals record for most threes made (previously held by Ray Allen), the Spurs simply played their best game of the series. The two will now battle it out in a best-of-two series as both teams try and break the trend of inconsistent play.
