The men’s basketball team will face the Stanford Cardinal for the first time since 1991 when they meet in the Legends Classic semifinals at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Pittsburgh will face Texas Tech at 6:30 p.m. in the first game followed by the Cougars against the Cardinal — both will be shown live on ESPN2.
The Cougars will play the winner or loser of the Pittsburgh versus Tech game on Nov. 26. The consolation game will be aired at 6 p.m. on ESPN3 with the championship game to proceed on ESPNU.
New uniforms
The football program will reveal its uniforms for the new season at 10 a.m. on July 23 in the Great Hall at the Athletics/Alumni Center. Four players will model the uniforms.
2014 football stadium seating chart released
The athletics department gave fans a preview of the new football stadium’s seating chart on Thursday.
Season tickets will start at $140, but lower bowl season tickets will begin at $200. Premium seating begins at $225 with luxury seating season tickets at $1,000.
The stadium will consist of 63 percent of seats that are not tied to Cougar Pride or stadium donations, while 37 percent of the stadium will be premium seating. Luxury seating will be four percent of the stadium.
Donations for the stadium are payable throughout a five-year period. Stadium donation pledge agreements must be signed by Nov. 30, to receive seating benefits with initial payment due no later than June 1, 2014. To donate more than $10,000 to the stadium, donation pledges are required to be made in minimum increments of $2,500.
UH and Nike team up for tennis camp
With a goal to help individuals increase their skills, the tennis program will host the Nike Tennis Doubles camp from Aug. 16 to 18 at the John E. Hoff Courts.
The doubles camp will cost $395 and is designed for adults 18 years and older. The participants can either sign up individually or bring a partner. UH students, faculty and staff can bring a partner free of charge.
The camp will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. The camp will resume from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17, and 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 18.
Tennis head coach Patrick Sullivan will be one of the instructors.
