Fourth Quarter

Nothing went right for the Georgia Southern University football team in the last ever Southern Conference meeting with the Wofford College Terriers as the team fell 30-20

The Eagles had no rhythm on offense as redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Ellison split time with senior quarterback Jerick McKinnon.

GSU struggled to stop WC from moving the ball and found itself forced to pass in a comeback effort.

Ellison would miss on 3rd and 14 as well as 4th and 14 as the Eagles offense stalled.  WC would get the ball back and milk the clock with some crucial first downs.

The Terriers would ice the game with a short touchdown run to make the score 30-20.   GSU scored again late thanks to McKinnon, but it was not enough as WC pulled out a 30-20 victory.  The game was not as close as the final score would indicate and the Eagles now sit at 2-1.

Third Quarter

The third quarter got off to a slow start for both teams but the Wofford College Terriers would eventually take over.

A fumble by GSU senior running back William Banks deep in GSU territory set up a 32 yard touchdown by WC sophomore running back Ray Smith. WC would miss the extra point to take a 23-14 lead.

The Terriers exploited the middle of the Eagles defense with the running game, and  a one yard fourth down conversion allowed WC to take a 23-14 lead into the fourth quarter.

Second Quarter

The Wofford College Terriers got the scoring started in the second quarter with a 40 yard field goal.  WC capitalized on a great 71 yard kick return by freshman wide receiver Nick Colvin.

GSU pushed the ball down the field on the legs of senior quarterback Jerick McKinnon.  He rushed for 81 yards in the half and set up a four yard touchdown run by redshirt senior running back Torrance Hunt.

The score was 14-10 late in the first half when WC put together a long drive with its hurry up offense.  WC was deep in the red zone when GSU junior strong safety Deion Stanley intercepted a pass in the back of the end zone to keep the score 14-10.

First Quarter

The Eagles squandered the next drive and WC sophomore quarterback Michael Weimer completed a 40 yard laser to senior wide receiver Jeff Ashley.  GSU would go into halftime down 17-14.

The first quarter got off to a rocky start for the Georgia Southern University football team when the opening kickoff went out of bounds. With solid field position the Wofford College Terriers marched down the field for an early touchdown.

WC sophomore fullback Jonny Martin scored from one yard out. GSU would respond after a couple of penalties with a 53 yard third down run by redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Ellison. That run set up a one yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Jerick McKinnon to tie the game at 7-7.

GSU fumbled three times but managed to recover all of them.
