Back on the grind just days after their decisive victory over Virginia Tech, the Deacs are raring to go as they prepare to face NC State on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Though it may not be a big weekend game, the Deacs are still taking this matchup very seriously.
“It’s a big game,” senior forward Luca Gimenez said. “It’s always tough to play an ACC match.” NC State is just 1-3-1 in conference play but have a serious threat on the front line with redshirt junior Nick Surkamp having four goals on the year.
After a rough few games, the Deacs are finally getting back on track, picking up a huge confidence boost in their matchup against Virginia Tech over the weekend. Right now, they just want to keep it going.
“We’ve been doing pretty well in the ACC so we’re just trying to keep it rolling and get another W to stay on the top of the table,” Gimenez said. The Deacs are tied for first in the ACC and have yet to lose in conference play, going 4-0-1.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Dali Soccer Stadium and the game can be watched live on ESPN3.
