Cougar soccer picked up its first win of the season after it shut out McNeese State with a score of 2-0.
Senior Kayla Walker led the offensive charge as she scored both of the team’s goals, and her first in just the seventh minute of the game off an assist from Lexa Green. Walker then put the ball in the back of the net for the second time in 25 minutes later and finished the game with a total of four shots on goal.
“I was proud of the way we came out today,” head coach Chris Pfau said. “We did not sit back and wait for things to happen like we did Friday night. When we do that good things happen, and Kayla had a great game for us.”
Junior Jordan Brown also came to play as she finished the game with four saves, leading to her second consecutive shutout.
