In case you missed it, while most of us slept off another overloaded weekend of “homework” last lazy Sunday, The Lonely Island took a stroll down memory lane. This “creepy” comedic trio has recently been working on a project on their decisive upbringing in Berkeley, California. Retired from their eight-year stint on Saturday Night Live, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone have since taken off down different paths. Samberg now stars on the FOX comedy series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Schaffer continues working in comedy, and Taccone has secured a reoccurring role on HBO’s “Girls.”
The Berkeley High alumni took a tour of the high school last weekend, paying homage to all the old and new spots. These motherlovers first met at Willard Middle School in Berkeley, continuing their friendship through high school and college, reuniting to begin their dominant grasp on the ill-represented entertainment sphere of absurdist comedy meeting boy band. The successful comedians have generously donated to Berkeley High renovations … and Berkeley High has generously donated some exclusive shots of the trio to the Clog!
Here, The Lonely Island examines a tribute to their group, as Taccone casually grips a medium-sized Philz coffee cup. We hope he didn’t throw it on the ground when he was done (littering is bad).
Just look at them sauntering up those stairs, like bosses.
DAYUM! Those are some moves! Then again, if we were a Lonely Island member, we’d probably be dancing like we were on a boat, too.
Hmmm … that one guy bares an uncanny resemblance to Michael Bolton.
Oh man — look at them frolicking in the street! We can just about guess what they were thinking: That it was a great day!
All jokes aside, its good to see that these three still have it! Welcome back to Berkeley, Lonely Island. We hope you had a jolly time. Best friends forever? That’s Ka-blamo!
