– The Mariota name may appear on the back of an Oregon football jersey next season. Marcus’ younger brother Matthew, a defensive end, will sign with the Ducks as a preferred walk on.

– Defensive lineman Sam Kamp will retire from football and graduate from the university.

– In an email to the Emerald, Chloe Stiles announced that the women’s basketball program had dismissed her. She cited a failed drug test, academics, and disloyalty to the coaching staff as reasons for her dismissal.

– The NCATA’S first poll of the season slates  acrobatics and tumbling as the number one team in the country. The  program is searching for a fifth consecutive national title.

– Following its second meet of the season, indoor men’s track and field rose to the top of the rankings while the women fell one spot to number four.
