A vehicle struck a pedestrian Wednesday afternoon, police said.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, an accident involving a car and a pedestrian occurred at the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Allston Way, according to Berkeley Police Department. Police said the vehicle apparently hit a pedestrian and then crashed into an electrical box. The accident is still being investigated.

One person, a male, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
