The Cougars return home on Friday night to take on the McNeese State University Cowgirls.
UH hope to bounce back after a tough loss to the University of North Texas on the road in their last game 3-0.
With the loss, the Cougars fell to 1-4-0 on the season, as they move closer to the start of conference play.
In their last home game, the Cougars defeated the University of Incarnate Word 4-0 and hope to carry some momentum from that game into their meeting with North Texas.
Now, the Cougars turn their attention to the start of a five-game home stand with the premier matchup with the Cowgirls quickly approaching.
McNeese State will enter the game Friday with a 3-2-0 record this year, but the Cougars boast a 5-0-0 record against the Cowgirls.
UH will be looking for a continued streak of strong play from freshman defender Hayley Hubbard, who earned American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after playing all 180 minutes of last weekend’s matches.
The Cougars and Cowgirls kick off play Friday at 7 p.m. at Carl Lewis Field.
