Names of UCC shooting victims released

During a 2:15 p.m. press conference today, the Douglas County Sheriff Department revealed the names, ages and hometown of the nine people deceased after a gunman opened fire at the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, on Thursday.

The deceased include:

Lucero Alcatraz, Roseburg, 19.

Quinn Glen Cooper, Roseburg, 18.

Kim Saltmarsh Dietz, Roseburg, 59.

Lucas Eibel, Roseburg, 18.

Jason Dale Johnson, Winston, 33.

Lawrence Levine, Glide, 67.

Serena Dawn Moore, Myrtle Creek, 44.

Treven Taylor Anspach, Sutherlin, 20.

Rebecka Ann Carnes, Myrtle Creek, 18.

The family statements for Eibel,  Johnson, and Cooper were also read during the press conference. Both Cooper and Eibel were recent graduates of Roseburg High School, and were on their fourth day at the college.

Cooper was described as a loving person who always stood up people, with a passion for dancing, voice acting and playing Ingress with his older brother Cody.  He was also a talented martial artist about to earn his brown belt next month.

Eibel was a proud member of Future Farmers of America, which served to promote agricultural education.  He lived a life of service, in his involvement at both the Wildlife Safari and Amazing Grace animal shelters.  Eibel was described as a talented soccer player and a strong student. He was a recipient of both the Ford Family Scholarship, and UCC scholarship.

Johnson was described as a faithful Christian, eager to further his education at UCC, and his family was very proud of him.
