This review contains mild spoilers. If you are not caught up with “How to Get Away with Murder,” beware.

Last week, “How to Get Away with Murder” left myself and many viewers on the edge of our seats in its return of season two. Shonda Rhimes always keeps the audience wanting more and more after each episode. They brought the show back in a major way and did an excellent job starting where they left off for season one.

One of the main questions we have for this show is “Will Annalise be able to protect herself and the Keating Five as she goes under fire for her husband’s murder?” Annalise’s secret lover Nate has been accused of murdering her husband Sam, but Eve (Famke Janssen), who we were introduced to last week, is his attorney. We also learn that her and Annalise were once lovers before she was married to Sam. Although the two have had their differences, Eve and Annalise end up sharing yet another steamy scene this episode. I’m sure many of us weren’t expecting it to happen again, but Rhimes always surprises me with every new episode I watch.

Michaela, who is part of the Keating Five, has been secretly texting the mysterious person that Rebecca texted 911 to prior to her disappearance. She’s trying to figure out why Rebecca texted them and how do they know each other. Coincidentally, Michael ends up meeting a guy in court and the two hit it off very well. But toward the end of the episode, Wes retrieves some of Rebecca’s belongings and sees that the guy who’s been pursuing Michaela actually knew his dead girlfriend. At first I was confused about it all until once he saw the photo it flashed back to Michaela and her new lover Levi. I’m becoming concerned about the safety of Michaela and does Wes know everything that has been going on? Or is he completely in the dark about Rebecca’s disappearance?

We are left at the end with another scene of Annalise laying lifeless on the floor, but this time the Keating Five are all in a panic about what just happened. Have one of their own shot Annalise? We also see Emily Sinclair, the new prosecutor of this new trial that has been developed also laying lifeless, but she is outside the mansion. We have all of these people at this mansion that was already involved in the new trial murder case, so I can’t wait to see all the events that will lead up to the finale. Let’s hope that this isn’t end of Annalise and company.

This show is constantly filled with twists and turns, and it constantly keeps me coming back for more. I have a love/hate relationship with Rhimes, as she’s always leaving her viewers with cliffhangers after each show and I feel it is too much for me to have to wait for another week, but that’s what keeps ratings up and more people wanting to see what all the murderous talk is about. I’ll continue to feed into my dramatic Thursday night addiction of “How to Get Away with Murder.”

“How to Get Away with Murder” airs on ABC on Thursdays at 9 p.m.
