On Tuesday morning, Oregon senior Jillian Alleyne was named to the Wooden Award preseason watch list, comprised of 30 student-athletes nationally.
The Wooden Award is annually awarded to the top player in both men’s and women’s basketball. Last year, Alleyne was one of 15 student-athletes nationwide to make the national ballot.
Alleyne is one of three Pac-12 players to make the list, which also includes Washington junior Kelsey Plum and Stanford guard Lili Thompson.
Before the season started, Alleyne was selected to the all-Pac-12 team, as voted on by the conference’s media. She tallied a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds in Oregon’s upset of No. 22 North Carolina on Sunday.
The national Wooden award winner and a five-player All-American squad are selected following the Final Four at the season’s end.
