It’s not every day that a small town like Keene, New Hampshire gets a visit from a former President of The United States. Hundreds of southern New Hampshire locals packed the Mabel Brown Room at Keene State College on Wednesday to hear former U.S. President Bill Clinton support his wife Hillary’s presidential campaign.
President Clinton expressed his fondness of the Keene area saying, “I like coming to Keene because I always get a lot of policy ideas,” in reference to a conversation he had before the speech with Cheshire County Sheriff Eli Rivera regarding the opiate rehabilitation program. “I’m glad to be back here,” said Clinton.
“I think I speak for all students when I say we welcome President Clinton here today,” said Keene State College Student Body President Bobby Graham.
President Clinton was introduced by a number of prominent figures in our state. Along with Bobby Graham, Keene Mayor Kendall Lane and NH Senator Molly Kelly gave their support to the Clinton campaign as well. “Americans need a president who has what it takes to get the job done, and that is why we need Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States,” said Senator Kelly.

The 42nd U.S. President expressed tremendous confidence in his wife’s ability to lead the United States to “shared prosperity”. Bill discussed several examples highlighting his wife’s work in many prominent campaign issues such as health care, climate change, immigration, gun violence, and gay rights.
“She’s the best person to win the election, the best person to implement the changes we need, economically and socially, the best person to preserve the gains we’ve made under President Obama.” said President Clinton.
“She’s the best change maker I’ve ever known…[She’s got] a proven record that the whole world has seen of standing her ground.” said President Clinton. “If you wanna know who’s got the best program based on my analysis…I think she does.”
