Start your weekend right with a theater adaptation of the classic American novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Enjoy your visit to one of the oldest and most successful community theaters in the country just 10 blocks south of campus. The play is directed by retired Lane Community College professor Stanley Coleman. Tickets are $18.
 
Saturday, Jan. 16
 
 
Do some good on Saturday with Nearby Nature by planting trees next to the river in the Whilamut Natural Area of Alton Baker Park. You can probably get some community service hours out of it and of course feel great giving back to our community. Meet at Mile Post 3 on the North Bank Bike Path.
 
Sunday, Jan. 17
 
The Devil Makes Three at McDonald Theatre. 1010 Willamette St. 8:30 p.m.
If you love folk, bluegrass, blues, ragtime, rockabilly, or just love having a good time then you definitely want to check out The Devil Makes Three on Sunday night. They’re raucous. They’re rocking. And they’re raw. Their music makes for an extremely danceable and fun time with their guitars, upright bass, and of course the banjo. Tickets are $25 but go up to $30 on Sunday.
Monday, Jan. 18
 
Celebrate Dr. King with director Andiel Brown and the UO Gospel Singers. The gospel program features special guests including Kati Hernandez, Bobby Wilmore, Afimayi Galarraga, and Lázaro Galarraga. Enjoy renditions of traditional folkloric songs, dance, and percussion. If you can’t make it, then don’t worry! The event will be live-streamed.

Friday, Jan. 15
 
If you have an affinity for both music and film, both sound and image, then the NW Film Center’s Reel Music Festival is definitely for you. See vintage performance clips, documentaries, dramatic films, music videos, and animation. The festival explores a variety of genres including jazz, blues, rock, classical, and opera. Tickets start at $6.
