Oregon women’s golf followed an impressive first round with a disappointing final round at the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford on Sunday. The Ducks finished fourth out of 13 teams after winning the tournament last year.

The Ducks sat in first place after the first day of the tournament came to an end. Both junior Marcella Pranovia and senior Caroline Inglis paced the Ducks with scores of 1-under par.

The team hot 285 overall, good for 1-over par and first place heading into the final. Nipping at their heels and sitting in second place with 287 was host Stanford.

Day two was a different story entirely for Oregon. Over their first nine holes of the round, the team combined to shoot ten-over par. From there, the Ducks righted the ship as best they could, but the damage had been done.

Oregon shot a 298, 14-over par for the round. Three other Pac-12 teams — Washington, Cal, and Stanford — took advantage of the Ducks’ struggles, jumping them in the standings.

Washington eventually claimed the title after shooting 4-under par (280) in the final round. Stanford (3-over, 287 in the round) and Cal (4-over, 288 in the round) followed.

Individually, Marcella Parnovia and fellow junior Cathleen Santoso led the Ducks, placing tied for 8th and 14th respectively.

After shooting a 1-under par in the first round, Caroline Inglis shot a season-worst 11-over par in the final round.

The Ducks will be back in action in a week as they travel to Peoria, Arizona for the two-day Westbrook Invitational tournament.
