Here are some of the items on the meeting’s agenda:

  • This year’s public comment section is promised to fill with comments from students. ASUO hosted a tuition transparency information section last week to help students draft their comments to rally against the proposed tuition hike. ASUO President Helena Schlegel has proposed a new tuition increase at 3.5 percent.
  • UO President Michael Schill will present his resource alignment plan to the Board. The College of Arts and Sciences is the first to go under Schill’s plan. Dean Andrew Marcus will talk specifically about the steps taken within CAS at the meeting. The alignment, although not finalized, has had impacts on student groups on campus.
  • The university will update the Board on Framework Vision Project Overview with more constructions ahead, including renovations of Deady Hall, Condon Hall,  Huestis Hall and a new research building on Franklin Boulevard. All are expected to start summer 2018.
  • The Board will vote on creating a new graduate sports-centric program and two undergraduate programs in Arts Management.
  • The Board will vote on tuition and fees hike. Schill proposed a 4.76 percent tuition increase for in-state students and 4.46 percent increase for out-of-state students. Increase fees include 3.83 percent in mandatory fee, 7.9 percent in Health Center fee and 4.47 percent in Incidental Fee.
  • Provost Scott Coltrane presents Information Technology Strategic Planning, which will cost $3.3 million.
