You’re sitting in Leavey studying for midterms, but the only thing that’s really on your mind is Cabo. In less than one week, your only worry in the world is going to be whether your tan is even or if you got the perfect picture of you and your friends for Instagram. But with spring break comes its own set of concerns like the fact that you will be spending 70 percent of your time in a swimsuit. Here are some simple and easy-to-follow pointers for how to mentally and physically prepare for Spring Break 2016.
- Drink lots of water!
Okay, so this is a tip that should go without saying because it is of utmost importance to stay hydrated if you want to stay healthy. Make sure that you bring a water bottle with you wherever you go, and if you are going to be in Cabo, only drink the bottled water!
- Take the stairs
Worried about whether your bikini bod is ready to go? Rather than waiting on that elevator for ten minutes, try taking the stairs! Those extra steps will get your heart rate going and blood flowing and after a long day of sitting in class, is an easy way to burn off a few extra calories.
3. Brush your teeth right when you get home.
You may be that one person who has Domino’s on speed dial, with pizza ready to go the minute that you leave the 901 Bar & Grill. But, trust me, if you get in the habit of brushing your teeth right when you get home from going out, you’ll thank me in the morning when you wake up feeling great. This is a great way to save yourself from those late night munchies and those extra calories.
4. Vitamin C!
Let’s face it: there’s nothing worse than catching a cold the week before spring break. So make sure to take your vitamins –– especially Vitamin C to keep your immune system in tip-top shape!
5. Don’t skip meals!
Skipping out on meals might seem like a good idea to cut down on calories, but it’s really the opposite. Eating more frequently in smaller meals is a better way to stay full longer and to make sure you are getting all of the nutrients that you need. If you skip out on meals, you will only end up eating more in the long run.
