This week, as students have evacuated Eugene and scattered out to the West Coast’s biggest cities, we’ll inform you of what is going on in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles this week:
Seattle:
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Thursday at 7:30 p.m., KeyArena (305 Harrison Street). Tickets start at $65.
Live in the KeyArena in Seattle, Bruce Springsteen teams up with the E Street Band for a memorable concert experience.
Seattle Scotch and Beer Fest, Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m. Fremont Studios (155 N 35th Street). Tickets are $30+; 21+.
This annual festival is “the premier beer, Scotch, whiskey, and wine tasting experience” of Washington. All proceeds benefit the Fremont Chamber of Commerce’s community grant programs.
Portland:
A Great Big World, Friday at 7 p.m. Star Theater (13 NW 6th Avenue). Tickets start at $20+.
You have no doubt heard A Great Big World’s biggest hit, “Say Something” featuring Christina Aguilera, and now the group is touring to remind fans that they are not just a one-hit wonder act. Catch them at the Star Theater this weekend in Portland.
Apples Against Humanity, Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. Funhouse Lounge (2432 SE 11th Avenue). Tickets are $10 in advance; 21+.
In a crazy combo between family-friendly Apples to Apples and extremely adult Cards Against Humanity, improvisers create scenes based on audience-chosen cards. A comedy show with expected vulgarity and lots of audience interaction, only those over 21 can join in on the fun.
San Francisco:
The Naked and Famous, Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Independent Theater (628 Divisadero Street). Tickets are $30+.
The electronic-indie band, hailing from New Zealand, is visiting the States on its current tour, visiting the renowned Independent Theater during its San Francisco stop. In case you don’t recognize the name, you might have heard the hit song “Young Blood” in the third-act of movies about prom night, or “Punching in a Dream” echoing through your dorm hallway.
Jason DeRulo at SmuleFest, Thursday at 7 p.m. Public Works (161 Erie Street). Free! 21+.
Mobile app developer Smule is hosting their annual SmuleFest, with special guest Jason DeRulo. Admission is on a first come, first serve basis and attendees must have RSVP’d online early for this free event. Showing up early also means a free first drink.
Los Angeles:
Nick Offerman, Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Largo at the Coronet (366 N. La Cienega Blvd). Tickets are $30.
Former Parks and Recreation actor and stand-up comedian Nick Offerman will be at Largo at the Coronet this Tuesday. The comedian offers his advice on love and relationships, play some instruments along the way and offer anecdotes about marriage, woodworking and Hollywood.
DJ Snake, the Chainsmokers and Dillon Francis, Saturday at 8 p.m. Shrine Expo Hall (700 W 32nd Street). $55+.
For an amazing electronic music collaboration event this weekend, Shrine Expo Hall will host openers The Chainsmokers (in case you missed the group in Eugene last December) and Dillon Francis, with headliner DJ Snake. Three of the biggest names on the EDM charts will likely put on an unmissable show.
