The 12th annual Undergraduate Research Day was held in the M.D. Anderson Library last Thursday, giving students the ability to present their research.

Over 200 students in faculty-mentored research programs, sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research, presented their examinations in areas including STEM, social sciences and heritage studies.

Some students also gave oral presentations in classrooms throughout the second floor of the library.

According to the Office of Undergraduate Research, approximately 60 students were supported in national competitions for scholarships and internships. The 12 recipients and three honorable mentions from UH gave the university its best outing to date in national competitions.

Some scholarships included the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, Critical Language Scholarship and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. All were available through nomination.
