Oregon women’s golf wrapped up its Fall season with a 10th-place finish at the Pac-12 Preview at Nanea Golf Club in Kailua Kona, Hawaii Tuesday afternoon. The Ducks finished at 28-over par (612) after two rounds, but the third and final round on Tuesday was canceled due to rain and lightning.
In round one on Monday, the Ducks shot 18-over par (310) and were led by Junior Petra Salko, who shot 2-over par and tallied four birdies.
In round two, the spotlight shifted to freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul, who tallied four birdies of her own through the first and second round. Phadungmartvorakul finished the tournament at 5-over, good enough for 31st place. Salko paced Oregon and finished tied for 15th overall.
Heading into the third round, the Ducks appeared to be on the upside of their performance in the preview. Nevertheless, unfortunate weather conditions took away that opportunity Tuesday morning.
“We were really disappointed that we couldn’t tee it up today – especially on such a great course like Nanea,” said head coach Ria Scott. “We were planning on making up some ground today to end the fall on a good note.”
The UCLA Bruins, who led Monday after round two, won the 12-team conference preview.
This marks the end of the fall season for Oregon. The Ducks will continue play on Feb. 18 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. February.
